Beulah Hits an Astounding Goal

It started out like any other morning, but the FundRays kick-off at Beulah Elementary on August 27th started something big.  For the past ten years, the school has sold Gulf Coast Savings Books as their one and only PTA fundraiser during the year.  The parents expect it every fall, and appreciate the value of the product.  Not only do they save money, but also, won’t be nickled and dimed all year by school-wide fundraising.  Over the past several years, Beulah has made it a goal to beat the prior record in sales.  “When they reached the thirty-two thousand mark, we thought they had capped out,” says Tim Tidwell.  But last fall’s sales reached an astonishing forty-six thousand dollars!  As an incentive to motivate the students, Principal Mrs. Thompson promised to dress up as Cinderella and be pulled around the school in a carriage drawn by a white horse  belonging to one of the parents.  The top boy and girl sellers were invited to dress as a prince and princess and join her on the ride.  It was such a big event and no doubt will be remembered for years to come.  The PTA  was delighted over the money raised and will use the funds toward new classroom technology and school events.  No doubt this will be a hard act to follow, but Beulah is up for the challenge and anticipates good things at this coming fall’s sale.  Way to go Beulah!!!
